Punching
Punching is a process to remove a scrap piece from a metal work piece using a punch and a punching die. It is widely used to make holes of various shapes on sheet metal. It is capable of creating holes in a fast rate which makes it suitable for large quantity production. Tooling is required for this process.
Blanking
Blanking is a shearing process which a new work piece is created by punch it from a metal strip or sheet.
Stamping
Stamping is a forming process by pressing sheet metal into dies to create required shape. It is an excellent process to form metal shapes at a rapid rate. Tooling is required for stamping.
Brake Forming
Braking forming is a process to bend sheet metal along a straight line by using V-shaped, U-shaped, channel-shaped, or special punch and dies. Tooling is required for braking forming.
EDM Wire Cutting
Electrical discharge machining wire cutting is a process to cut metal using an electrically conductive wire with rapid controlled repetitive electric spark discharges. EDM wire cutting can create complex 2-dimensional shapes. No tooling is required.
EDM Cavity Machining
EDM cavity machining uses pre-shaped electrodes to cut metal by using rapid, controlled, and repetitive electric spark discharges. The electrode for EDM is usually made through other processes such as CNC machining.
